Paneer-Do-Pyaza

Paneer Do Pyaza is a cottage cheese recipe, made with two types of onions. It's curry is made with tomatoes and Indian spices to give a tangy taste.

Ingredients :

  • 400 gm Paneer (cut into cubes)
  • 1 cup of Tomato Puree
  • 2 Onions (Grated)
  • 1 big Onion (Cut into large pieces)
  • 1 tsp of Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 2 tbsp of Curd
  • ½ tsp of Jeera
  • ½ tsp of Black Pepper Powder
  • 1½ tsp of Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ tsp of Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp of Coriander Powder
  • ½ tsp of Kasuri Methi
  • ½ tsp of Garam Masala
  • 1 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 3-4 Green Cardamom
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 1 tsp of chopped Coriander leaves
  • Salt according to taste
  • Oil for cooking.

Procedure :

1. Firstly, in a bowl take paneer cubes. Add ½ tsp of Salt, 1 tsp of Red Chilli powder, ¼ tsp of Turmeric, ½ tsp of Black Pepper powder and 2 tsp of Oil into it. Mix it well.

2. Now, rub Kasuri Methi between palms and add this into paneer. Add 2 tbsp of curd, mix properly. Leave it for 10 min to marinate.

3. Heat 3 to 4 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add large onion pieces and fry for a minute. Take out and keep aside. Now add marinated paneer and fry for about 2 to 3 min. Take out all the paneer and keep this aside.

4. In a left out oil, add ½ tsp of jeera, 2 bay leaves, cinnamon stick and 3-4 green cardamom. Now add grated onion and fry for 2 min. Add 1 tsp of ginger-garlic paste and mix well.

5. Now add 1 cup of tomato puree, ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, ½ tsp of red chilli powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder and ½ tsp of salt. Mix it well. Add ½ cup of water, cover pan with a lid and cook until oil releases from the masala on low flame.

6. Open the lid, put fried paneer and onions. Mix it properly. Now add ½ tsp of garam masala and 1 tsp of chopped coriander leaves. Delicious Paneer Do Pyaza is ready.

7. Paneer Do Pyaza can be served with Roti, Naan or any kind of Paratha. Serve hot & Enjoy!
