Cookies (using Wheat Flour)
Cookies covers a wide range of flour baked products, though it is generally an unleavened cake or bread, crisp and dry in nature, and in a small, thin and flat shape.
Ingredients :
- 3 tsp of Pure / Desi Ghee
- 3 tsp of Powdered Sugar
- 1 cup of Whole Wheat flour
- ½ tsp of Baking Powder
- ¼ tsp of Baking Soda
- ¼ tsp of Vanilla Essence or ½ tsp of Cardamom Powder
- 3-4 tsp of Milk
Note : Two steel plates, greased with oil and a large aluminum kadhai, to bake cookies.
Procedure :
1. In a large bowl, put Ghee and powdered Sugar. Mix well with a fork or whisk, until creamy.
2. Now add Wheat flour, Vanilla essence or Cardamom powder, Baking Powder and Baking Soda. Mix and crumble all the ingredients well with hands.
3. Furthermore add 3 to 4 tsp of Milk to combine the mixture. You don't need to knead the dough, just have to combine to make a dough.
4. Now cover the dough for 10 min. Meanwhile, place kadhai on low flame, spread a cup of salt in bottom. Put a wire stand in centre and cover a lid on kadhai.
5. Now, flatten the dough slightly thick and cut into desired shape with the help of a cookie cutter, gather the remaining dough and make cookies.
6. Or you can simply make small balls from the dough, press one ball between the palms lightly and make some design with the help of fork, knife or wire ladle on cookies.
7. Place all cookies on greased plates. Make sure there is a little gap between cookies. Carefully put one plate inside the pre-heated kadhai on low flame for about 30 to 40 min or till the edges turn slightly golden. Repeat the same method with second plate.
8. Allow the cookies to cool completely. Cookies will be soft when heated, and crunchy when cooled.
9. Finally, Wheat flour cookies are ready. You can serve it with Tea, Coffee or can store in air tight container for at least 2 weeks. If you want, you can also prepare cookies by applying dry fruits on top. Tasty and healthy cookies are ready.
